How to Perform 4-7-8

  1. Hold the tip of your tongue against the roof of your mouth. Place the tongue against the area of tissue located behind your upper front teeth. It should also stay there throughout this entire exercise.
  2. Exhale all the way out through your mouth, expelling the air with a whoosh sound.
  3. Close the mouth and making no noise inhale through your nose with a count of four.
  4. Hold your breath for a count of seven seconds at least.
  5. Exhale completely through your mouth making a whoosh sound again, for a count of eight to nine seconds
